A star drink: Sicily in a goblet - The recipe for the 'Sicilian Boulevardier'.

Un drink da star: la Sicilia in un calice – La ricetta del “Boulevardier Siciliano”

Sicilian tradition meets international elegance in our latest cocktail, conceived and created for a prestigious event: the Cannes Film Festival. In a context of excellence and creativity, we wanted to encapsulate the soul of Sicily in a drink that not only enhances our products, but also tells a story.

Thus was born the "Sicilian Boulevardier"a cocktail that reinvents the classic Boulevardier adapting it to the unique flavours of our land.

Inspiration from tradition

The original Boulevardier is a variant of the famous Negroni, where gin is replaced by whisky, creating a drink with a strong, enveloping character. For our version, we chose to go a step further, reinterpreting the ingredients in a Sicilian key:

  • Bitter Artichoke Paesano as a substitute for the classic red bitter. With its herbaceous and slightly bitter notes, it adds a complex depth to the cocktail, recalling the scents of the Mediterranean maquis.
  • Marsala 'Pre-British"an alternative vermouth that enriches the mix with sweet hints of dried fruits and spices.
  • Sicilian rum an innovative ingredient that adds a warm and spicy touch, replacing whisky and completing the taste experience.

Paesano artichoke liqueur: a unique bitter with an intense, herbaceous flavour, perfect for creative cocktails or enjoyed straight as a digestive.

The Sicilian Boulevardier recipe

This carefully constructed cocktail is perfect both as an aperitif and as a drink to enjoy at any time of day.

Ingredients:

Preparation:

  • Chill the mixing glass previously and leave the serving glass filled with ice to one side
  • Pour the ingredients into the mixing glass in this order:Bitter Artichoke Paesano, Marsala Pre-British, Rum
  • Mixing gently
  • Remove the ice from the serving glass and add an ice sphere
  • Strain the cocktail, pouring only the liquid, directly into the serving glass, preferably a nice retro-style cup.
  • Perfume the drink with fresh orange peel

The result is a refined cocktail with a complex and spicy flavour, an enveloping texture and a unique balance. The orange zest gives a citrus touch, which enhances the herbaceous and spicy hints of the main ingredients.

The Sicilian Boulevardier is a celebration of Sicily, a tribute to its history, its flavours and its ability to innovate while remaining tied to traditions.
